The Traveler

Travel is not only moving physically from one place to another. As we travel in space, we also travel in time. The passing of seconds, minutes, days, years, is a form of travel. We are all on board a huge spaceship called Earth. Spinning and turning, non-stop!

From that perspective, each one of us is on a journey of his/her own. That journey ends abruptly; no warning, no announcement, nothing.

Are you ready? You should. We all should. Imagine that moment, then think what you must do to be ready, starting from now.

Start with your loved ones. Mend those broken relationships. Improve those that are just “OK”.

Do you have children? Tell each one of them, at least once a day, that you love them, and mean it.

Are your parents alive? Go visit them, or call them. Say thank you. Do something they like. Be there for them. Remember that they had done their best with what they had. Release any blaming. It’s a useless emotion that only hurts.

How about your spouse? Your significant other? Love is a noun and a verb. If the noun is not there, start with the verb. Little things matter.

Travel light! Make sure when you leave, there wouldn’t be too many loose ends behind. Get organized, and get rid of that “stuff”, which you no longer need. Donate it to charity, if it’s still usable.

Enlighten your soul. Do something you’ve never done before. Face those artificial fears. Allow the remainder of your life to unfold naturally. Give your worrying mind and ego a long vacation. Be spontaneous, if only for a day every month.

Be happy. It is a decision. It has nothing to do with circumstances or other people. It stems from within, if you would like it to. We all have challenges. Why not face them with a smile?

Again so very inspiring. The part that hits home is when you talk about our parents, that we should remember that they had done their best with what they had and to release any blaming. I will be keeping this at the forefront. Thank you so so much for sharing this.
